Have healthy nails

 It is important to have in mind that some girls have better nails than others. Some of us are blessed with good genetics, while others need to put a little more effort in. No matter which group you belong to, your nails could certainly only benefit from these tips, so apply them by all means. 

1) Healthy Diet

If you want healthy nails, you need to start a healthy diet. Eat as much fresh fruit and vegetables as you can and stay away from fried and processed food. Cook more, order less and increase the amount of calcium you take. It is very important for your nails.


2) Good personal hygiene

As with any other part of your body, keeping good personal hygiene is of great importance for having healthy nails. Wash your hands regularly and remove any dirt that might get stuck under your nails. Try not to wet your nails too much. Of course, you need to wash your hands, but make sure you also dry them well. Use rubber gloves while washing the vessels but don’t ever put rubber gloves on wet hands or do anything similar that will prevent your nails from breathing. Wet, warm environment is practically heaven for growing of bacteria and fungi, and neither of those brings anything good to your nails.

Biting your nails or your cuticles. These habits can damage the nail bed. Even a minor cut alongside your fingernail can allow bacteria or fungi to enter and cause an infection.

Using moisturiser is a must!! When you use hand lotion, rub the lotion into your fingernails and cuticles, too. They need that care. 

5) Your nails are not a tool

Your nails should not be used as a tool to open cans, jars or anything similar. That’s what tools are for. Your nails have a different role in your life. Be Gentle!!!

6) Cuticle removing

One of the biggest mistakes many girls do when it comes to their nails is cutting the cuticles. This should never be done. Instead, apply cuticle remover gel or cream and gently push your cuticles with a cuticle stick.

7) Regular clipping


Keep your nails at length that doesn’t come in a way of your everyday chores and clip them regularly. Nails that are too long are also much more prone to breaking.

8) Easy on nail polish

 EvaMaudeAlthough colourful nails are quite cool, nail polish actually does a lot of damage to your nails. The reason is that nail polishes contain acetone, which makes your nails soft. Don’t manicure your nails more often than once a week and buy only high-quality nail polishes. If your nail polish has passed its expiration date, throw it right away.

9) Don’t ignore problems

If you notice any kind of changes in your nails, you should, by all means, schedule a visit to your doctor. Yellow and thick nails can indicate fungi infection while some other changes, no matter how small you think they might be, could be an indicator for vitamin deficiency or an illness. As soon as you notice something different about your nails – see your doctor.
